Flava D's evolution is on display on "Desert Lights" EP

Flava D · Desert Lights

Danielle Gooding, aka Flava D, is back with a new 3-track EP entitled Desert Lights. The UK artist known for her nuanced takes on garage, grime and bass, this latest EP is a formal sign of an evolution into more uptempo drum and bass after the release of some singles throughout 2020.

While "Mesmerise," "Return to Me," and "Human Trumpet" gave us a taste test of Flava D's new exploration, this EP serves as its opening party. Each track handles an emotion we usually find in liquid drum and bass, but tapping into the top of mind melodic progressive and of course, the wobbly bass of said bass music, Flava D makes this all her own.

Born in Bournemouth, England, Flava D has made a name for herself previously at Butterz, and now at south London label Hospital Records. Releasing her album, More Love, in 2018, she has collaborated with artists like Redlight, DJ Q and My Nu Leng along the way.

Desert Lights is available on all DSP's.
