Heavy Weather usher in a bold new chapter with "White Noise"

West Lothian indie outfit Heavy Weather return with their latest single, "White Noise", the first release from their forthcoming second EP and a statement of intent for the band's next chapter. Since the release of their 2025 debut EP And Now The Weather, the Scottish four-piece have earned a reputation on the grassroots circuit for their high-energy live shows and commanding stage presence, steadily building momentum across the country's indie scene. Rooted in the spirit of Britpop and alternative rock, Heavy Weather continue to shape a sound that draws from the records they grew up with while bringing a modern perspective to their songwriting.

"White Noise" leans into soaring guitar melodies, driving rhythms and expansive production to create a track with both immediacy and scale. Produced by Mark Morrow (Swim School, Wrest, Fright Years), the single pairs reverb-soaked guitar work with punchy drums, weighty basslines and anthemic vocal hooks that give it a widescreen feel. Beneath its infectious energy, the song explores the pressures and uncertainty of modern life, using rich, atmospheric textures to mirror those emotions before opening into a chorus that feels equal parts reflective and liberating. The balance between introspective lyricism and euphoric instrumentation gives the track a lasting sense of emotional lift.

Capturing the nostalgia of classic Britpop without becoming bound by it, "White Noise" blends memorable hooks with genuine emotional weight, offering a fitting introduction to the band's next era. As they continue to expand their reach, "White Noise" stands as a compelling reminder of why Heavy Weather remain one of Scotland's most refreshing emerging indie acts.
