Rockwell, aka Thomas Green, is one of the most respected and forward thinking talents in the world of modern D&B. Receiving recognition from the likes of Billboard and DJ Mag, the British DJ and Producer constantly provides new music showcasing his forward thinking attitude towards D&B whilst remaining true to the original sound and roots of the genre. Following on from his full length album 'Obsolete Medium' and various releases on labels including Critical, Darkestral and Neosignal, Rockwell's latest EP delivery 'USER' joins the likes of Break, Friction, Interface and Spectrasoul on Shogun Audio.
The opener 'Easy' sees Rockwell team up with Roni Size, legendary founder of D&B collective Reprazent. Heavy, jungle influenced percussion teamed with some female vocals give this one a nostalgic feel and an authentic vibe. Keeping the authenticity flowing, '09' follows on from the opener providing a mix up in tempo with a slower, melodic feel whilst nodding towards the roots of D&B with classic samples.
'Inventor' is the third offering from the EP. Featuring Roll Deep co-founder Mark Viera, more commonly known as Grime MC Flowdan, 'Inventor' combines Flowdan's inimitable bars with a slick instrumental. Title track 'User' closes up the EP with a slightly more emotional feel than the other tracks, providing a captivating and rolling five minutes to lose yourself in alone or amongst the crowd.
