Buzzing North London rapper and producer King Kay takes hold of DVSN's "Too Deep" and reworks it in his own unique fashion. Driven by his jazz and soul roots, and his fresh twist to a classic Hip Hop sound, King Kay turns the dvsn classic on its head, and completely transforms the sultry R&B jam into his own rap confessional, packed with piercing, compelling and hard-hitting lyrics about the current state of music and his position within it, while still offering a glimpse of a softer side, with veiled messages to a significant other. Being a big DVSN fan, King Kay knew from the jump he had to do his own take on the song giving the listener something they can relate to.
The visuals for ‘Too Deep’ sees King Kay collaborating with acclaimed director Dir. Lx, who has previously worked with the likes of J Hus, Dave, and AJ Tracey. King Kay keeps things high classy in the video with very crisp and aesthetically pleasing visuals. King Kay has been long listed for two awards – Best Male Solo Act and Best Urban Act – at the Unsigned Music Awards, which will be opening The Great Escape festival this year,
