As we head hastily on into the second half of 2014, we've already seen a wealth of releases that are more than worthy of the 'song of the year' award, and today we were graced with another peach from Californian R&B superstar Jhene Aiko.
Following on from the success of her EP Sail Out, which was warmly received by fans and critics alike, and her feature on "From Time", possibly one of the best songs from Drake's Nothing Was The Same, the LA native has dropped another gem on us, in the shape of "To Love & Die"; the first single from her forthcoming LP Souled Out. Following on from a fifteen second teaser she released a couple of days ago, we've been given the full version and boy was it worth the wait. The Cali songstress gently swoons her way across dreamy soundscape produced by fellow LA dwellers The Fisticuffs. Backed by some deep kicks, and melodically beautiful chords, Jhene, aided by Cocaine 80s vocalist James Fauntleroy, tells a tale of falling in love with someone, and all the feelings that come with that.
You can stream "To Love & Die" below, and if you're liking what you're hearing, the song is available to download on iTunes now! Be sure to keep yourselves locked onto EARMILK for all the latest music coming from Jhene, including word on her next project.
