New York has been a breeding ground for creative minds making music in genres such as rap and hip-hop. From budding artists handing out their mixtapes on street corners to the genre’s all-time greats, including Nas, The Notorious B.I.G., and Wu-Tang Clan, many New York artists have developed their unique sound in the creative hotbed of New York – and promising multi-instrumentalist Jms Brynt is one such evolving talent to keep on your radar.
Growing up just outside of New York City, Brynt discovered his love for music at an early age, weaving through the ins and outs of the craft playing school band tunes on the trumpet and later learned how to play the guitar and piano.
Brynt’s creative drive eventually led him to compete in numerous beat battles, culminating in a second-place finish at Clash of the Beatmakers, a five-round contest judged by music industry professionals. He also channeled this creative spark into his professional life, taking on a six-month internship with an audio engineer known for his work with the rock band Crash Test Dummies. This experience led to studio sessions with numerous artists and engineers, including Grammy Award-nominated engineer Yanni Apple Seedz and Brooklyn rappers Sheff G and Sleepy Hallow. His growing reputation in the music industry has also led to job offers from Warner Music Group’s A&R division.
With diverse experiences shaping his artistry influenced by pop and melodic rap, Brynt’s lyrical soundscapes spanning everything from the darker tones of “ĢŘỌƊ” to the ethereal touches of “yü gęę kæ,” Brynt continues to expand his reach with each new release.
