After nine years, the New York state singer-songwriter Victoria Bigelow is back with a beautifully stripped down version of her newest single “Blame”. Recorded in Nashville’s Bold Studio, Bigelow strums freely on an electric guitar alongside her soft, honeyed vocals.
Produced by Grammy Award-winning David Leonard, “Blame” is a gently weaved track which draws inspiration from unfaithfulness and broken hearts. Bigelow wrote this song after the fallout of a destructive relationship, saying that the lyrics “‘how could I blame you, I wouldn’t love me at all’ is a self-deprecating, slightly sarcastic response to him cheating”. Bigelow is submerging herself back into music following the birth of her son. “Blame” is a perfect example of her masterful songwriting that comes straight from the heart and an indication that she will have much more to say on forthcoming EP Going Blue.
