Ali Coyle's New EP "Songs For My Therapist" is a journal of loss and triumph

Indie pop artist Ali Coyle has a way of deeply connecting with her listeners through her highly-relatable lyrics, lush sonics, and vivid imagery that is delicately woven into her songs. The emerging artist recently released an EP Songs For My Therapist which is a six-track body of work that depicts the narrative of a queer woman as she navigates through the ups and downs of her life’s journey while learning meaningful lessons along the way. Self-discovery, transformation, and acceptance are powerful themes throughout Ali’s EP, as she confronts her demons and moves into a place of healing and growth.

The first song “Trust Me” is about opening yourself up to the possibilities of love and letting go of fear. It’s about “having hope, falling in love and taking a chance," confides Ali. Heartfelt lyrics and soothing vocals flow effortlessly over vibey, dreamy soundscapes to create the perfect release. Ali also incorporates saxophone, known as the instrument of love, to further add to the romantic theme of the song.

“Clear Water” is magical, vulnerable, and poetic in every sense of the way. Connecting deeply with water as a source of healing and spiritual cleansing, Ali calls upon water to wash away the pain and sorrow of yesterday to bring her home, ultimately to her true self. “Clear Water” is soft-spun composition, gracefully drenched in a soporific melody, with echoing vocals over lush and fluid soundscapes. " ‘Clear Water’ was recorded primarily using my looping pedal with sounds pulled and reversed to create orchestral-like effects that made the raw and emotional vocals carry extra importance," says the artist.

Ali Coyle is a singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist from Santa Ana, California. As a first generation Irish American, she has crafted her sound through early classical training and by immersing herself in the folk sounds of her Irish descent. Through thoughtful storytelling filled with cinematic connections, Ali Coyle truly paints a picture for her listeners with every musical composition.

Listen to Ali Coyle’s Songs For My Therapist and know that you’re not alone in your suffering. Understanding defeat and hardships is an important catalyst for transformation, creativity, and personal growth.
