Swedish artist ORKID hones her deeply personal songwriting style on her second EP In All Of My Tomorrows, weaving an emotional arc around her atmospheric alt-pop sensibilities.
With her debut having struck a chord with its intimate exploration of grief, having been written in the aftermath of losing her mother, this second project highlights her evolving sonic strength as she taps into an expansive electronic undercurrent that also manages to be intimate. From the ethereal exploration of grief as something that's embraced as part of life on the title track to the melodic lilt of "Ethereal," and the haunting notes of "Steep Hills," the EP is emotive yet crisp as it captures grieving with a note of hope.
Speaking of the EP, she says, " My first EP was rooted in grief — a body of work that helped me begin to process something very personal,” ORKID says. “But grief doesn’t disappear; it changes shape. In All Of My Tomorrows is about carrying that feeling forward while finding space for hope again."
Having established herself as a distinct voice in Scandinavian pop with her debut project, ORKID has continued to gain global attention for her poetic yet powerful musical style.
