Nick Murphy (f/k/a Chet Faker) just commenced the second leg of his North American tour and in a bid to whet our aural appetites he also gifts us with a new single titled "Medication".
Slowly on a new path since dropping his Chet Faker moniker, Nick Murphy released an EP 'Missing Link' under his government name in May and has kicked off a unique live show across the country. A man of many talents, Nick now takes some time out to present a brand new single that showcases his superb style of song writing. "Medication" is built upon a broody, cinematic backdrop that shape shifts at certain intervals marked by pulsating rhythms and of course Nick Murphy's emotionally powerful performance. Writing from the perspective of an ego driven individual, Nick Murphy aims to present the listener with a different outlook on having an ego-fuelled confidence. This is captured excellently with the layered musical approach and arrangement that is both left-field and soulful.
As he states his new music "bridges the sonic shift between who he was as an artist and what’s next for him as Nick Murphy".
