LA-based production trio Wear Patterns is comprised of brothers Gene & James Bautista (who also create as the Beat Ventriloquists) and their long-time childhood friend DJ Francesca Harding, who all grew up going to school together in the ever so diverse Silver Lake neighborhood of Los Angeles. The group grew apart after middle school, but reconnected many years down the line through a chance encounter where the Bautista brothers ran into Francesca while she was DJing a day party in DTLA. In the time since, Harding has become an accomplished music selector & radio personality for KPFK 90.7FM, occasionally spinning at different dance-floors around the world, while the Bautista brothers have seen moderate success producing electronic music as the Beat Ventriloquists and creating original scores & music for TV/movies.
After their serendipitous meeting at the party, the trio decided to band together to form Wear Patterns who have been crafting infectious, genre-blending dance tunes since the beginning of the year. The group released their debut single "Tease" a few months ago, and now EARMILK has been given the opportunity to premiere the follow up single "Undone" featuring vocals from former Twin Shadow band member Rush Midnight. The smooth down-tempo cut is a perfect demonstration of the group's ability to meld a number of influences into captivating dance records, this one in particular drawing from R&B & subtle Caribbean dance riddims.
