Mike Hawkins brings the big guns on "Soldiers"

Danish DJ/producer Mike Hawkins, long supported by some of the biggest names in dance music, dropped a real treat on us yesterday.  Known for his electro-house bangers, Hawkins' music usually takes center-stage in DJ sets because of its high-energy and intensity, while still containing catchy hooks.  His new single for 2014, "Soldiers," (out now on Doorn/Spinnin Records) is no different.  Premiered by Hardwell a few months back, the track has already seen heavy rotation in DJ sets this year, and will likely become even more popular in the next few months. While it starts off with a somewhat prototypical big room Dutch house anthem, just listen to that drop. Then there's the syncopated bassline that dances around unique synth stabs that kind of remind me of a sitar, and that chord progression on the bassline – mmm! It's ridiculously catchy, energetic, and unique, and quite frankly I think it's Mike Hawkins's best work yet.  So do yourself a favor and check it out below, and make sure to grab an HQ version off Beatport today.
