Canadian alt-pop talent Housewife unveils enchanting offering “Life Of The Party,” which taps into a darker edge of her melodic indie-pop signature.
Weaving punchy baselines with haunting guitar lines, the hazy yet vibrant production is emo and honest as it dives into people’s perception of our lives versus how you feel it’s going.
Speaking of the inspiration behind the track, she says, “I totally love my job, but I think sometimes people make a lot of assumptions about me based on the fact that I'm a musician. People see me on stage and assume that I'm this super confident person living a super glamorous life, and that is just not the case. Once I get off stage, I am a very anxious person who doesn't like being the center of attention – so I wanted to write a song about balancing people's opinions of me with how I actually feel about myself.”
Toronto-based rising star Brighid Fry under her musical moniker consistently delivers pop-tinged indie-rock productions that weave through everything from messy situationships to climate change in empowering yet grounding tones.
