Sareem Poems starts off 2020 with a brain-picking alternative hip-hop single titled "I Don't Know." The seasoned emcee goes for the jugular with a poignant Q&A type approach over Newselph's syrupy countrified funk guitars and head-nodding drums. He poses questions around a plethora of issues ranging from city life, poverty, depression, parenting to segregation to name a few. He solemnly looks at the state of the nation and wonders if we ever learned anything from the past as it seems history keeps repeating itself in the worst ways.
"I Don't Know" is a very thoughtful record with reflective social commentary that makes you think deep and challenges you to find the much-needed clarity in all the chaos around us. The single is the follow up to Poems' 88 To Now project released last year.
