Promise Tekeste is a young 23-year-old unsigned artist from Australia, he is half Ethiopian and half Eritrean but was born in Kenya before he moved to Australia when he was 11. This is a young rapper whose already accrued a lifetime of stories to tell but has the voice and talent to do so!
Promise pens a heartfelt song on his latest effort he calls "Missing You". The record is true to life as it is inspired and dedicated to the rapper's younger brother, Nazrawi Samson Woldemicheal who went missing in October 2016. Over a somber, backdrop Promise shares intimate details about his feelings on the situation from falling out with his brother, the politics that govern missing persons in Australia amongst other things. The BigBoyTracks produced song also features singer Soli Tesema who adds an emotionally powerful chorus to the song. This song also aims to raise awareness about amazing organizations like Missing Persons Advocacy Network – MPAN.
Shot, Directed and Edited by Dane Meale, the visuals start off with a short narrative between Promise and an unseen interviewer he shares his frustrations on the issue at hand. The clip also shows us a glimpse into Promise's state of mind as he peruses through pictures of his kid brother, reminiscing about the good times and channeling the heartache he feels ever since the kid went missing.
