Consisting of members Sam Saunders and Thom Simmons, Auckland based electronic music duo Chores formed in 2013. Since then, the pair have quickly emerged at the forefront of New Zealand's dance music scene, with multiple releases on record label Say Wat.
Their latest offering, "Mind Your Head", is a bass-heavy original track produced in collaboration with Gasp, a seventeen year old DJ hailing from Dunedin. Of "Mind Your Head", Chores say, "'Mind Your Head' is is a track we started a few years ago and just never got around to finishing, although back then it was called ‘Encore Sophomore’ and sounded nothing like what it does now. A few months ago, when Gasp got in touch about collaborating, he asked if we had anything we'd already started. As an experiment, we decided to send him 'Encore Sophomore', which was nothing special at the time. A few weeks later, Gasp sent the track back, and we were amazed. From here we worked via correspondence, sending projects back and forth online for a few months, and ended up with 'Mind Your Head'".
