The blogosphere has been going crazy this year after the debut from Australian psych rockers, Tame Impala. The Pitchfork BNM'D (best new Music) release, Innerspeaker, has been out since May. On October 12, Tame Impala stopped by the Daytrotter studio for a session. The repetitive, multi octave guitar leads become familiar fast. The nerving progressions of the longer tracks do a great job of getting your head involved. All that combined with intoxicating falsetto, and its easy to feel you have traveled to another time and or space. Mellow but screaming. It's psych rock at it's finest. Here is the full set from the Daytrotter session. It you don't have the time or patience for the longer tracks, I recommend at least checking out "Solitude is Bliss." One of the years best songs.
