Dottie Andersson lets go of her baggage in “Heavy Objects”

Swedish indie pop artist Dottie Andersson has started her spring clean early this year with the release of her new single, “Heavy Objects.” Speaking of ridding of the things in your life that bring you down, whether they be certain emotions or situations, Andersson highlights how holding onto negative weight can be totally draining.

Equal parts indie and pop, the energy of her sound has been compared to what she has for breakfast… a can of Monster-Energy. Laced with fast-paced drums, jangly melodies, growling guitars and oscillating synths, her vocals ooze a sass and candid attitude. Think the likes of Veronica Maggio and Phoebe Bridgers but with more grit.

“Heavy Objects” is the first single to be released off of her upcoming EP, as she shares, “It's finally the music I wanna make, music that comes directly from my Swedish veins and that is authentically me. This first EP is like breaking loose from a kind of chain that's been holding me the past couple of years.”

Hailing from Småland, Sweden, which literally translates to “small lands,” Andersson is taking her huge and vivacious sound to all corners of the globe. There are no limits for this artist.
