The Jared Stout Band bring freshness and nostalgia on 'Heavy from the Sky'

Virginia’s six-piece alt-country act The Jared Stout Band infuse freshness into their signature nostalgic sound on sophomore album Heavy from the Sky. Led by messages of love, freedom and vulnerability, a sense of comfort stretches throughout the nine-track collection.

The album juxtaposes the feel-good guitar strums of “Runnin’ Through The Shadows,” the atmospheric touches of “Luck,” and the quiet lull of tracks like “Morning Kisses,” with the sultriness of “One Shot,” and the anthemic mood of “Trouble,” before finishing off the infectious yet gentle rhythm of “Outside Of You.”

Rooted in poignant lyricism and a carefully honed heartfelt instrumentation, the sextet draws from personal experience while still leaving the messages of his creations up to interpretation. Having established themselves as act we can turn to for comfort, The Jared Stout Band offers up a soothing sonic world for us to lose ourselves in.
