Rising act PHEA has transformed the pain of chronic illness into an enchanting and healing experience on five-track EP Healing Hearts. Balancing heart-breaking explorations of a difficult time in her life with empowerment and ferocity, the intricate production manages to be energetic and vulnerable at the same time.

Opening with introspective nature of debut track “Running,” which sees PHEA meditate on her self-destructive tendency to perfectionism, we get a glimpse of her thoughtful song writing, haunting sonic touches and her husky vocal style. With a dark delicacy hidden away under each track, “Dark Thoughts,” delving into the harsh reality of a sleeping disorder is a startingly honest encapsulation of navigating ups and downs in your mental and physical health.

The luscious blend of pop, avant guard pop, and indie pop on “I Saw You,” evokes a powerful vibe as she courageously breaks down the inner monologue of a rape victim, drawing from her own experience with sexual abuse and harassment. An energetic number bolstered by layers of anger and complex emotions, the track strikes a perfect balance against the melancholia yet hopeful nature of “When I’m Falling,” unveiling PHEA’s brilliant versatility.

Final track “Breaking Bones,” portrays further polarity blending heaviness with haunting atmospheric vibes, delivering up comfort and catharsis in equal quantities.

A layered journey through PHEA’s strengths and weakness, Healing Heartscomes to us as an encourage pop production that infuses us with the ability to overcome our own obstacles, establishing this emerging talent as an act you can turn to for unfiltered yet warm sonic experiences.
