Nathan Zanagar explores emotional pop honesty on new EP 'La Grande Salle'

Rising French artist Nathan Zanagar delivers dazzling new EP La Grande Salle, that radiates emotional honesty and fearless artistry across five genre blurring tracks. Zanagar proves himself as more than a vocalist or songwriter, but a storyteller, a director of feeling, and an architect of moments that stay with you long after the final note fades. In a landscape full of polish but little heart, La Grande Salle lands like a heartbeat – real, resonant, and impossible to ignore.

Already turning heads from the likes of Didier Varrod (Radio France) and Antoine Dabrowski (Tsugi Radio), Zanagar is quietly redefining what it means to be a pop auteur. His voice, described by Dabrowski as one that leaves you “not fully recovered,” is just one of many weapons in his creative arsenal. Across La Grande Salle, he sings, directs, writes, and collaborates like an artist in total command of his vision, yet still open to vulnerability.

The EP opens with “In My Head,” a slick electro-pop stunner pulsing with quiet anxiety and laced with sharp introspection. From there, we’re thrown into “EDA,” an ode to platonic love that somehow feels both universal and piercingly specific. Accompanied by a self-directed video, the track proves Zanagar’s ability to tell complex stories with minimal gloss.

Standout moment “Occupe Toi” brings the emotional temperature to a boil. Co-written with playwright Yasmina Reza and featuring artist Valentin Marso, the song pulses with theatrical weight, like a love letter penned in the margins of a script. Elsewhere, “Aux Hommes” shimmers with haunting harmonies, while the title track “La Grande Salle” closes the record with a sense of finality that feels earned, not performed.

What ties it all together is not just the vocal dexterity or the crisp production, but the emotional consistency. Zanagar describes these as his “most unapologetic” songs to date, and you can hear that in every beat and breath. Offstage, Zanagar’s artistry extends far beyond the mic. He’s fully directed four videos from the EP himself and when he’s not creating, he’s reportedly planting trees, proof that his roots run deeper than image. Having already performed across Paris, London, New York, Copenhagen, and even the Philippines, Zanagar is proving that his voice is both literal and metaphorical and has a truly global reach.

In an era where emotional honesty is increasingly rare, La Grande Salle is a breath of fresh air. It’s not just an EP, it’s a milestone for a rising artist who refuses to be boxed in.
