Jackson Englund is a producer, DJ and singer-songwriter who is making his mark on the electronic music scene. The artist is also a co-founder of the record label and event series Gari Safari and singer/co-producer of Mont Blvck. His new single "Konichiwa" is the first taste off of his forthcoming album Shadow Work and it is shared alongside a riveting music video.

With "Konichiwa", Jackson Englund creates an eclectic and left-of-center indie pop meets electronic single. The track is all about letting go of a past self as one transforms into a new version of themselves, one that is a true self. He sings, "If you want / To say goodbye / Broke the mirror on the way / Drop the pictures in the rain," show this theme. Musically, "Konichiwa" features quirky futuristic synths, thumping bassline and alluring funk-fueled beats for a captivating listen. Dreamy melodies and textured chillwave rhythms create an immersive sonic escape. Jackson Englund collaborated with Lee Curttiss from Vision Quest who coproduced and cowrote the song alongside Jean Michelle Lapointe who coproduced it. Acclaimed musicians Kim Bullard on synth and Matt Bissonnette on bass (Elton John) also lent their talents. The music video showcases this narrative perfectly. A Japanese woman in all black with a big briefcase is followed as she makes a journey through the city. Soon she embraces her true identity changing into a colorful dress and wearing a pink wig against a fun backdrop of a giant shell and donuts. Her joy is palpable as she revels in her new self.

Jackson Englund is known for his genre-fusing releases and dynamic DJ sets where he has performed throughout The Americas, Asia and Asia. His upcoming and highly anticipated full length Shadow Work "is a journey through long nights, whispered doubts, broken loops, and breakthrough moments," proclaims the artist. Check out your first listen now and enjoy the ride!
