Kate Clover drops cover of Nancy Sinatra hit "These Boots Are Made for Walkin"

Los Angeles musician Kate Clover offers her own take on Nancy Sinatra hit “These Boots Are Made for Walkin,” featuring The Abigails’ leader singer Warren Thomas. With an electrifying soundscape that draws influence from the likes of Suicide, Primal Scream and the Gun Club, the cover cuts deeply into Clover’s authentic rock sound, as she makes the well-loved song completely her own.

The track, which taps into the singer’s typical gritty underground style, is offset perfectly by the sultry vibes of the accompanying music video, as Clover’s husky yet powerful voice transports us into a production that she describes as "if Suicide produced a Nancy Sinatra and Lee Hazelwood song" Drenched in lo-fi, hyper-slow beats that weave a haunting yet fierce feel, Thomas’ baritone plays off Clover’s lush voice for a hypnotic sonic experience.

Using her music as an outlet for self-discovery, Clover’s music brims with a defiant spirit which her latest offering exudes with ease. From leading bands to cutting her teeth in pursuit of solo music dreams, Clover has always strived to build an unshakeable presence in rock n’ roll, and this cover is yet another step in that direction.
