Canadian emcee DIE-REK shares his new single "Eyes Across the Room" which sees him collaborating with New York singer RKHTY and the two bring back that good old refreshing 90s styled hip-hop. The production is reminiscent of the classic "Ice Cream" record by Raekwon in terms of sound and aesthetic. From the punchy boom-bap drums, airy solemn keys, and dusty basslines that all merge to form the perfect backdrop for DIE-REK's smooth and impassioned performance.
DIE-REK touches on his journey as an indie artist in the game and all the dues he paid along the way. He reflects deeply on the ups and downs and more importantly that special someone who stuck and supported him along the way. RKHTY sure is the right fit on this tune and her commanding sultry vocals help tie the theme of the song in a seamless manner.
DIE-REK is a staple on the T-dot underground scene since he released his debut single “Questions” in 2005 with the B side "Come Alive." He is currently signed with Illect Recordings.
