Rap duo Mother Nature have shared a new single called "GOOFIEZ", featuring fellow Chicago heavyweight Valee, and Boathouse.
Mother Nature is a duo made up of rappers Klevah and TRUTH. Their sound is eclectic and soulful, providing both substance and simplicity. The group's under rated 2019 EP Pressure gained them a wider audience, featuring experimental production and complex rhymes. Since then, they have carved a lane by crafting their own unique sound- a hazy, psychedelic concoction of dissonant samples and banging drums.
For their newest single "GOOFIEZ", the group enlists Chicago heavyweight Valee and producer Boathouse. Together, the musicians craft a song that is invigorating and mind expanding. The production from Boathouse is dissonant, featuring swirling samples that sound metallic and ice cold. Underneath, rugged drums and booming 808s provide an adrenaline fuelled rhythm. Moreover, the rappers provide complex flows and thoughtful lyrics over top of the noisy instrumental.
All in all, "GOOFIEZ" is an interesting release from Mother Nature. It provides a sound that is both abstract and engaging, making for a fresh mixture of styles. The rappers collaborating on the track have strong chemistry, and come through with some entertaining flows and complex rhyme schemes. Overall, this is a solid track for both self-reflection and motivation, because it is both thought provoking and exciting.
