The Dida Tapes starts off with the wistful opener "Careful"—a catchy track featuring pensive guitars contrasted with glorious choral vocals. The groovy "Shaking Bodies", which features The China Blue, delivers a brighter guitar sound grounded by a rich bass. Lively drums lock beneath the guitars, creating an endless echo of deep grooves. The Dida Tapes also features soter's break-out single "Hills"— a smooth vocal melody over mellow guitars and cinematic backing vocals.

dev soter started first creating music in middle school, writing primarily hip-hop songs. However, after teaching himself guitar, he quickly transitioned to a more pop and R&B sound.
