Ithaca meets Los Angeles trio Jimkata create synth electronic-infused indie rock that draws inspiration from existential themes. Their latest single "Blessings in Disguise" is all about the working grind of being a creative and a freelancer. So many of us have been told when we have a setback that this is a 'blessing in disguise', but Jimkata ponders when do we just have life's gifts without hardship?

In perhaps one of their most autobiographical songs to date, the three-piece reflect on their journey as a band and how they have all had to work various jobs in addition to music to get by. Evan confides, "We’re all just trying to get by in this age of growing income inequality and to be able to do what you love in the midst of that is special. This song is sort of an ode to the age of the “side hustle” and the “gig economy” and for everyone who feels like they’re pushing a boulder up a mountain everyday trying to get by."

"Blessings in Disguise" sonically soars with vibrant soundscapes, deep fuzzed-out bass and infectious alt-rock vocals. Jimkata have built a loyal following over a decade with their insane live performances and '80s infused rock n roll sound. Their latest single is off of their upcoming full-length Bonfires which is set for release this coming Spring. Take a listen to "Blessings in Disguise" now and give thanks.
