Multitalented producer and artist Russ has just released his new EP CHOMP. Filled with scorching bars, Russ incontestably puts his skillful lyricism on full display.

Releasing "Who Wants What" featuring Ab-Soul earlier in the year, fans were already preparing for a relentless bar-filled project, and Russ didn't disappoint. Before even listening, seeing that KXNG Crooked, Ab-Soul, DJ Premier, Busta Rhymes, Benny the Butcher, Black Thought, The Alchemist, and 9th Wonder were going to be on this EP, we knew that this project would be beyond memorable.

Opening up with "Stockholm Syndrome," Russ starts it off with brilliant metaphors and complex wordplay, as he cleverly rhymes vivid phrases with lines like, "This is bigger than a post with an irrelevant caption. This is organized knowledge and intelligent action. This is since ‘06, tryna create legacy. Boss talks, stocks, real estate and equity."

"Inside Job" is filled with exceptional poetic lyricism that pierces through the speakers. With an intricate pen, Russ delivers passionate vocal performance in each line, reminding us that our power comes from within. Rapping on a beat made by DJ Premier, this track incorporates a classic boom bap and upbeat sound that keeps our heads nodding.

Closing the EP off with "Momentum," Russ, Benny the Butcher, and Black Thought come together to deliver fiery lyricism that intertwines together effortlessly. Russ uses powerful wordplay again to relay words of encouragement, such as "Of listening to myself and mappin out all my goals / My career is a course in self confidence / And how ownership leads to opulence / Adjust your oculus / If you tryna rise to prominence / Bust down the door assert dominance." Produced by 9th Wonder, the beats contain plenty of nostalgic OG hip-hop sounds that set the stage for the wordsmiths to shine.

Press play and listen to Russ as he chomps through your headphones.
