The Spanish DJ and producer, Paco Osuna, makes his return to his own imprint Mindshake with a bass-heavy techno EP entitled Brain Bells. The release also features two remixes of "Brain Bells" from Marco Farone and Egbert. Osuna has had huge releases on some of the most well-known labels including Adam Beyer's Drumcode and Richie Hawtin's Minus. The well-known Spanish producer adds yet another big release to the collection with this latest offering.
Kicking off the EP, "Brain Bells" displays a deeper and bass driven style to Osuna's production. This explosive techno track features a heavy bassline, Thunderous claps and pitched drums tastefully layered together. The track also features an intense bell melody and muffled vocals that add a murky effect to the production.
"Techbass" resembles the elements of a driving techno track and embodies the tracks title. A throbbing bassline mixed with unrelenting energy and sub bass combine to create a true tech masterpiece.
Wrapping up the EP are two different remixes of the a-side track "Brain Bells.." Up first is Marco Farone who adds a hypnotic spin to the original. This dance floor gem transforms the original with a looped melody that preps this record for club play. Closing out the EP, Egbert adds a tasteful rework of the track with some dramatic bass and a frantic melody that adds a dark twist to the original.
