After thrilling us earlier this year with the entrancing remix of her song "Trip", US-based songstress Adanna Duru returns with a brand new jam "Imposter" for the second half of the year. The track shows a whole new side of Duru as she goes for a more Afro-pop atmosphere and lyrics steeped in her Nigerian roots.
She also brings along singer Amir Kelly who shares his own side of the story on the track that deals with people and their hypocritical attributes. The song is a call and response of sorts, Adanna criticizing men who verbally offer her the world, when their reality says different. Amir responds, playing the role of the "imposter," trying to persuade Adanna that he is the real McCoy. Regardless of which side the listener may lean towards, we all can agree that both parties offer a just observation delivered through a spellbinding vocal performance. Get it on Spotify.
