It feels like just yesterday that Cut Copy returned with their first single in nearly four years. In fact, it was almost one year ago, when the indie electronic quartet emerged from the Australian wilderness with "Airbone." An album, Haiku From Zero, followed in 2017, along with a slew of singles including the title track, and its most recent, "Black Rainbows." As Cut Copy is famous for their remixes – and affinity for being remixed – we've seen multiple iterations of each single from the album. Bermuda's Harvey Sutherland, Ferdinand Weber and Ara Koufax have been among the many remixers so far, highlighting the wealth of indie acts across the electronic sphere.
Tensnake is up next on the docket, taking on the track "Standing in the Middle of the Field." The original's sprawling world energy transforms into a summery, laid back nu disco groove with the signature touch of the German DJ and producer at the helm. Fitting perfectly with Cut Copy's own sensibility, Tensnake does this one justice. It's out June 8th via Astralwerks / Universal.
