Today, MÒZÂMBÎQÚE delivers a stunning musical display on his newest record titled "Kenopsia". The title alone had us hitting the Google button to familiarize ourselves with the many schemes found throughout the video. The one-man band crafts a blend of funk, pop, chillwave and various other elements into this piece of work. The producer gave us some interesting insight into the creation of the record having started with just a simple touring keyboard. Add on a layering of random vocal samples over brooding soundscapes and we have a stunning new track. Check it out below.
The avant-garde visuals for this cuts in numerous free-for-use scenes and images that enhance the eerie vibe of the record. Once again, the title came from when the producer stumbled upon a list of abnormal words and "Kenopsia" stood out for him. Kenopsia stands for "the eerie, forlorn atmosphere of a place that’s usually bustling with people but is now abandoned and quiet—a school hallway in the evening, an unlit office on a weekend, vacant fairgrounds—an emotional afterimage that makes it seem not just empty but hyper-empty, with a total population in the negative, who are so conspicuously absent they glow like neon signs."
