Los Angeles’ own Tha Ynoe brings the heat with his latest track, “R&B Bitches.”
“R&B Bitches” starts off with a clip from Remember the Titans to set the mood, before the instrumental picks up and Tha Ynoe begins his first verse. Featuring a wailing horn and an eerier piano loop, the productions for “R&B Bitches” gives a menacing feel to the track. What’s more, Tha Ynoe’s decision to leave out percussions during his first few bars adds to the drama, making the song crack that much harder when the drums come in around the 45-second mark.
“R&B Bitches” is what most rappers are missing these days. That’s not to say it’s “classic” or “golden era” but rather Ynoe keeps it simple with relentless punches. This is braggadocio. This is the kind of track you knock your head to and play as loud as your speakers can handle in your car. This is line after line of nonstop rap, and it's a beautiful thing.
The best thing about this, however, is that Ynoe leaves the chorus to the end. There is nothing worse than getting into the groove with a track, only to get sideswiped by a chorus. It fucks with the flow. Not everybody gets that, but clearly, Ynoe understands. A good song doesn’t have to follow that verse, chorus, verse, chorus formula every time. Case and point, "R&B Bitches."
So if you’re looking for a headbanger that’s ready to blast, look no further. Tha Ynoe has your back with “R&B Bitches.”
