The UK tech house scene is arguably the biggest it's ever been. New and old talent are both thriving, with DJ's constantly pushing the limits and breaking down barriers. Someone who knows this scene inside out is Joe Bradley, aka Latmun, who saw a career defining 2016 and this year it's only going up for the Midlands-born DJ and Producer. With Ibiza in his sights – we managed to catch up with Latmun before the Summer season really gets off the ground and after gushing about how great we think he is, he told us about his catapult into the limelight himself.
"Thank you very much, it was quite the year for me as at the start before I released my Def EP I had no idea how it was going to turn out. I was actually considering taking a graduate job in London until that point! One of my favourite memories from the year was playing with the Solid Grooves guys over in Ibiza, they had me over for their closing party at Vista Club and it was just one of those nights where the vibe came together perfectly, Dennis Cruz, Pawsa, Michael Bibi and myself went b2b for the last 3 hours to close off the final night of the season and it was really special." Not only did Latmun really hold his place in the scene, his songs also took over the charts. All 3 of his EP's broke into the Top 10 on the Beatport Tech House releases, 'Def' on VIVa was the first of these three and included heavy support from the likes of Skream and Steve Lawler. The 'Dance & Bop' EP on Wow! saw similar success, and was followed by 'Cosmic' which shot to Number 5 in the Top 100 Chart. 'Cosmic' stole the season in 2016, becoming a staple in a lot of big name sets – and with that we asked Joe to predict the tunes that will take over in 2017.
"It's early to be calling that – But I will do my best! Andrea Oliva's forthcoming Hot Creations track 'Soho Nights' is going to be a big one with Jamie already heavily supporting. I would like to hope that my Hot Creations release will be, haha! That comes out in September. And Then for a more underground one, there is an Italian guy called Pasquale Caracciolo who has a track called 'Boom', he sent it to me a while ago and I’ve been hammering it! Im pretty sure its now signed and when that one comes out over the summer I think its going to get some big support!"

With talk of sounds you can be expecting to hear this Summer – Cuckoo Land is the newest edition to the home and heart of dance music – Ibiza. With a line-up curated by Do Not Sleep and featuring special appearances from their visionary resident, Darius Syrossian, Cuckoo Land represents freedom from reality and will start a whole new chapter for San Antonio, unleashing a deep house and techno soundtrack upon the sun-drenched Ibiza Rocks pool weekly from Sunday 21st May 2017. As well as Darius and Latmun, you can expect music from the likes of Catz 'N Dogz, Hector Couto and OC & Verde to name but a very small handful.
"It started off as just a few dates in talks between my team and the Cuckooland guys, as time went on they decided to bring me on as a full resident meaning that I’m doing 12 dates over the course of the season. Im really excited about that, I used to be a resident at a club called Stealth in the UK for many years and its a very different thing to just coming and playing a set. Being a resident really allows you to get to know the crowd and how to create the perfect vibe for that party, it also keeps you on your toes as you have to create something unique each time for the regulars that are there every week. I can’t wait to get the season started on the 21st May!"
Playing 12 shows for the Cuckoo Land pool parties will require vibrant energy and good vibes, which is exactly what the acts booked embody. Even between shows DJ's do need their down time, and Joe told us exactly what he plans to do with his time between shows on the Island.
"Between shows I love exploring the whole island, and the best way to do that is definitely via a moped! I usually hire one and just drive without looking at a map or directions, just following whatever little winding roads look interesting! Ive discovered some amazing secret spots to watch the sunset or have some drinks on a beach with your friends where you are the only people there."
Latmun will be resident for Cuckoo Land @ Ibiza Rocks this summer, with the opening party on Sunday 21st May and Tickets for the events are available HERE
