Founded in 2000 by Sven Väth, the venerated German imprint Cocoon Recordings has long been known for its annual Alphabet series compilations and support of budding artists. Tomorrow they’re up to letter P, proving to be one of the longest running compilations in the house and techno scene. Like its predecessors, the twelve-track Cocoon Compilation P is all encompassing, taking you from the light to the dark with the likes of La Fleur, Josh Wink, Alex Smoke, Redshape and many more. Taking the second slot on the compilation, Dutch producer Wouter de Moor delivers his own rich house roller with “Tesla Coil.”
Wouter de Moor sets the tone of the track with a strong beat and, with some great pad work, a scaling lower end. He quickly builds up a crisp hi-hat as acid-tinged wandering synths take over, leading your feet on a house journey.
This is definitely one track and compilation that should not be missed. Pick up a copy when it drops tomorrow on Cocoon Records.
