New York City based hip-hop electro soul producer Gramatik is a bit of a chameleon when it comes to his music. He can make a smash electro funk track with driving southern rock melodies like “Torture” off Age of Reason, and then he can turn around and release Coffee Shop Selection, rich with groovy melodies that would make J Dilla and Leon Bridges writhe in joy. This month he has been releasing singles off his forthcoming Epigram EP, out this fall via his own imprint Low Temp Records.

His lead single “Native Son,” featuring rapper Raekwon is a glistening convergence of soul and down-tempo hip-hop that goes down smooth like a fresh blunt or a stout bourbon. In celebration of his tour and the EP’s forthcoming release, Gramatik enlisted the young but immensely talent producer Ramzoid to add his signature touch to the record. Out of the gate, Ramzoid states his name strong, letting soulful melodies standalone before exploding into a cacophony of swirling synths and staccato 808s. The remix is reminiscent of the future bass sounds Flume or Wave Racer, while boasting its own persona. "What can you say when you give a 17 year old producer a track to remix and he completely blows you away? I knew he was talented – just listen to his stuff on Soundcloud – but come on…:) He put his trademark spin on the track and just made it his own. A lot of young musicians are killing it right now but you should keep an eye on Ramzoid because this dude is going places,” say Gramatik.
