Rising UK duo Apidae has only been around for a little over a year but they have already carved a name for themselves. It helps that the two have been working with various electronic musicians during their time but now that they have combined their sound is robust and drenched in somber synth melodies. Their latest single “Turning Tides” is a minimalistic electronic track in the likes of something off Radiohead’s Kid A, both reverberating a sound that is chilling and calming at once. This release is their debut single and is being released via Swedish label Dumont Dumont, which has worked with artists like RY X and Novo Amor. In addition to the record's release they have shot a wistful video to accompany the title track. When asked about the video Apidae had to say, “There’s a theme of transition within the lyrics, describing an important turning point in life. We tried to capture that feeling in the video, juxtaposing the run up to, and come down of, a single night out.”
