It's artists like Norin & Rad who make you wonder about the way in which some are able to "make it big." Frankly, it's guys like these whose productions feel like they fly under the radar that's really baffling. The California production duo is an Anjunabeats favorite, always pushing a unique blend of tech and melody in their productions. Today they've released an EP entitled Thundercat / That Was Easy, showing their interest in pushing musical boundaries. Though met with mixed reviews from some fans, I think this release is of note because of its refreshing look toward the unusual. "Thundercat" is a little more what we're used to hearing from the guys, with an unstoppable drum-backed progression. But it's on "That Was Easy" where they test out unusual percussive progressions that if you're expecting something else, might be a little jarring.
