We'd like to introduce 22-year-old duo Louise Millar and Michael Macias, who together form Twin Caverns. Hailing from Sydney, Australia, Millar and Macias aim to "combine the best of electronics and acoustics with a touch of nostalgia," which is most prominently heard on their single called "Swell".
Among other noteworthy singles on Twin Caverns' Soundcloud, including "Undiscover" and their rework of Bon Iver's "Hinnom, TX", "Swell" seems to blow us away. Downtempo and hip-hop inspired, the twosome whisper soulful vocal style, smooth, melodic guitar, and ambient beats into our ears, which we quite gratefully accept. They personally describe this as "astral soul", where one can quite easily hear their influence drawn from the likes of James Blake, London Grammar, Feist, and Hermitude.
It should be interesting to see where the duo ventures next.
