So we got to experience the greatness that is "Shabba" last summer when Harlem native A$AP Ferg released the original as a teaser to his highly anticipated Trap Lord EP. Now, we've got something new in our midst. I probably listen to "Shabba" more than a mentally stable person should, but it's one of my guilty pleasures, so now that this remix has graced us with its presence, I'm glad to direct your attention to it. I won't lie. I didn't welcome this remix with open arms at first. I was more than satisfied with the original, and I actually still prefer it, but this remix definitely has its perks; one of which is that the dancehall OG himself, Mr.Loverman AKA Shabba Ranks, is featured on the track. Ranks kicks off the song by dedicating a solid thirty seconds to either saying his name or ordering you to call it out, which sets you up for the turn up mood that this track embodies.

Next up is A$AP Ferg, who comes at you from the get-go with his notable sense of humor, which among other things includes the comically sung line "Trap lord, you're so trill." (My favorite part of the entire song.) and a humorous reference to Kanye's classic screaming. Migos, an Atlanta based hip hop trio, do their thing as they half yell out of what I'm assuming to be excitement, and Busta Rhymes puts the icing on the cake by matching his solid delivery with interesting voice changes. Overall, the mix of these artists' verses and personalities lead to an entertaining rendition of the original "Shabba" (Feat. A$AP Rocky), so make sure you keep the turn up alive and check it out.
