Joey Bada$$ and the fellow members of the Pro Era Crew were snubbed. As TDE, Slaughterhouse, and the A$AP Mob guys all got the chance to step to the mic during the BET Hip Hop Awards cypher series, the network somehow missed out on inviting this young crew over for a video. Turns out, they didn’t need one; the crew made their own and let it go online.
Artists like CJ Fly, Nyck Caution, Dessy Hinds, Joey and more, took turns rhyming over hip-hop classics like Jay Z’s “So Ghetto” and Mobb Deep’s “The Leaning (Burn)” while DJ Statik Selektah cuts it up on the one's and two's. The combination of diverse flows and old school lyricism just sent a message to BET for the next series. Wise beyond their years, yet still keeping it fun, the young adults highlight that they don't need a network to make an impact in the hip hop community.
