Over the last few years New York has birthed an impressive amount of talented rap groups, each able to maintain distinct aesthetics that set them apart. Duos like The Underachievers have made their name through blunted conscious raps, while A$AP Mob rose to prominence through their trendy mix of cloud rap and high fashion. Last summer, Pro Era burst onto the scene with nostalgic 90's reminiscent flows and boom bap beats. Rapper Joey Bada$$ has been able to emerge as a standout talent from the collective, though the same cannot be said about most of the other members. Hard at work on his debut project Thee Way Eye See It, CJ Fly is looking to change all of that.
Pro Era and TDE connect on this newly shared cut "Sadderdaze". Staying true to the crews roots, CJ and especially Ab-Soul drop knowledge over a horn filled head nodder. This track definitely has us excited for what else CJ has in store. Joey Bada$$ and Buckshot will also make appearances, and you can expect to hear some production from the likes of Statik Selektah and Erick Arc Elliot of Flatbush Zombies.
