In the modern hip-hop world, there's been a resurgence in female emcees breaking into the scene. If I were to ask you to name me a female rapper, I'm guessing the first answer out of your mouth would be Iggy Azalea, Angel Haze, or maybe even Rapsody? Well, it seems that we have a new up-and-coming emcee to worry about in 19-year-old Philadelphian Chynna Rogers. Hailing from the west side of the city, Chynna has finally dropped the visuals to her track "Selfie", taken from her project Chinois.
Chynna is backed by a dope instrumental with that boom-bap feel, accompanied by a smooth sample. Both the lyrical content and the Chynna's flow are the perfect partner to the instrumental, and this track is definitely a head-nodder. The visuals were directed by fellow Philadelphian Duck. "Selfie" is taken from Chinois, which you can stream from her Soundcloud and download from Livemixtapes.
