When EL P, the dynamo lo-fi rapper/producer formerly of Company Flow fame, and Killer Mike, the socially aware ATLien lyricist constantly overshadowed by bigger names, teamed up on R.A.P. Music, the result was an unexpected chemistry that bore fruit in the form of one of the year’s best records. Now, the two have further tapped into that chemistry, forming a duo known as Run The Jewels. Their latest song, “Get It”, packs the same rugged punch of their previous work and finds the team settling into being a unit rather nicely. High quality stuff. Be on the look out for the album, released through Fool’s Gold Records, this June, and catch Run The Jewels on the Run The Jewels tour with Despot and Kool AD this summer.
