Following the release of their self-titled debut EP, Mississippi duo Young Buffalo have teamed up with a few of their friends for their first-ever acoustic Votiv Session. Although it's been stripped nearly down to the bone–no guitar solos, bells, or bass here–this take on "Upstairs" exhibits much of the punch of the studio cut, just with some extra space in which to unfold. High school friends Ben Yarbrough and Jim Barrett duel their acoustic guitars supported by gentle percussion, subtle keys, and female vocal harmonies. Young Buffalo unplugged serves as a pleasant, meditative compliment to the electric version.
