After feeding listeners a steady stream of singles throughout this past year and subsequently having several of his cuts featured in EARMILK's weekly hip-hop feature Straight No Chase, yesterday Chicago's Kami de Chukwu unveiled his debut solo project. Despite several delays the SaveMoney representative delivers with a strong debut mixtape entitled, Light. Coming out of the talented ranks of Chi-City's burgeoning SaveMoney collective, Kami is the latest promising emcee to emerge from the crew's ranks which includes a roster of emcees, producers and visual artists.

The fifteen track tape includes a mix of original and re-purposed production from a diverse collection of producers ranging from ThemPeople, Groundislava to Jonwayne and Thelonious Martin, XXYYXX to Samiyam and Hudson Mohawke. The SaveMoney Army makes their presence felt with guest verses from SaveMoney members Joey Purp, Chance The Rapper, Caleb James, Vic Mensa (of Kids These Days), Preston San and Brian Fresco among others.
