Originally released by Jens in 1993, “Loops & Tings” was designated an absolute anthem. Today, two of the most recognizable and respected DJs of their craft, Ferry Corsten and Markus Schulz, release a meaningful tribute to the growth of dance music in recent years. They’ve updated the track in a way that clearly aims to bridge the old and new trance eras by repurposing one of the most iconic tunes of the previous dance generation. Veterans Corsten & Schulz capitalize on the use of classic trance style elements, dark (and “loopy” as the title infers) styles to update a classic for the big room.
Debuted in Corsten’s Countdown 250, “Loops & Tings” has since been a fan favorite and a prime choice in Corsten and Schulz’s sets. And because of the emotion and nostalgia elicited in just the original melody, other big time trance artists like Armin van Buuren, Leon Bolier, and W&W have given this record tons of support as well. Corsten and Schulz understand their fan base, and have created a way to teach new fans about where their tastes came from, and to understand the importance in what laid the foundation for the huge growth in trance music to date.
This is the first we’ve seen Markus Schulz and Ferry Corsten working together, and what a statement they’ve made. To say this is a powerhouse of a collaboration is an understatements and luckily, both Schulz and Corsten have made it clear that we have much more to look forward to.
