As a diehard fan of Yasiin Bey (must admit I'm still getting used to using and recognizing the artist formerly known as Mos Def's new moniker) I'm of the opinion that YB's has the ability to turn anything he's featured on into something memorable. With that said, DMV resident rhymsayer Tabi Bonney and veteran rap sensei Yasiin Bey linked up with past collaborator and killer beatsmith Ski Beatz to craft "Chop Chop', a vibrant cut off of TB's upcoming project The Endless Summer.
With the help of chromatically pitched percussion, Bonney and Bey ply their trade over Ski Beatz' Caribbean-tinged production, which exudes a certain positive 'feel good' island vibe. Check out the track below and look out for The Endless Summer, available May 17 as a free download.
