This is your Daily 2% – Chilled and Ready to Serve. We will try to bring you one "chill" track every day. This is for when you get home and you are trying to unwind. You reach for that glass of wine or that unlit Black & Mild or maybe you reach for something more herbal. This track is for those times. We are just your milkmen and I'm here to make a delivery. Chill…
Today's delivery is brought to you by R.E.M. Now, I know most of our readers probably are pretty far removed from this group nowadays but everyone is familiar with their music regardless. You've had to just hear their music "around." Whether it's been in movies, commercials, radio; whatever. They've been at this music thing for 31 years and it was big news when they just announced that they will finally be throwing in the hat. The lead singer was quoted as saying "A wise man once said, 'The skill in attending a party is knowing when it's time to leave'" which is the perfect way to sum up their decision to call it quits. They've had more hits than you can name and when one of their songs comes on, you are instantly transported back to the time when you first heard it it. They are very nostalgic that way. The track I'm bringing to you today is called "Imitation of Life" which comes from their 12th (wow) album Reveal from back in 2001. You won't find a cooler music video than the one that was produced for this track because it took 20 seconds to shoot and it just goes back and forth. And, as for the track itself, you can't help but feel the emotional impact when the lead singer hangs on the word "cry…" and bends it; much like your heart strings. This group will be missed. Check out the track and chill…
