Jen Awad & Will Bates share cinematic, blissful new single "Doomed to Loving You"

Born from a chance meeting in West Hollywood, powerhouse vocalist Jen Awad and acclaimed composer Will Bates, share the emphatic new single "Doomed to Loving You". The track carries the spark of instant chemistry — both artistic and emotional — and unfolds like the title sequence of a noir romance.

Awad’s voice, equal parts velvet and fire, soars over Bates’s lush orchestration, which blends sultry Bond-esque strings with moody synths and a cinematic pulse. It’s no surprise the song made its debut on Paramount+’s Tony & Ziva; it sounds tailor-made for widescreen emotion. Bates, best known for his evocative scores in Dumb Money and The Magicians, crafts a soundscape that gives Awad’s powerhouse delivery space to ache, shimmer, and explode.

The collaboration feels as organic as it is grand. The pair reportedly wrote the track after a whirlwind week of dinners, stories, and late-night inspiration — and you can hear that immediacy in the music. Awad’s haunting refrain, “I’m doomed to loving you,” lands like a confession whispered in a dark bar, equal parts pain and seduction.

What makes “Doomed to Loving You” so compelling is its effortless blend of cinematic drama and human vulnerability.
